Happy Anniversary!

icon
Today marks the one year anniversary of Pixel Joint opening to the public. I suggest you all take the time to give Sedgemonkey some honor in building and organizing the largest online gallery/community of pixel artists ever. What started out as a blog/icon site has grown into an ever-changing collaborative community. Props go out to my main man Sedge!

Let's all laugh at Centrefuge's classmates, because this site has a higher coolness-factor than they will ever REMOTELY near.

Hahahahah.

Congrats! You've made a place I can't stop looking at in graphics class, for which I'm constantly made fun of!

I think I can sum up the whole feeling of the PJ community with three words

I love you (in the way a straight man can love another straight man [well speaking personally])

A fantastic site with a great comunity and it wouldn't be that way if it weren't for the way that it's been looked after with care by Sedgemonkey.

It is my joint top site on the net (Devart being the other!!) and I just wish that I had more time to create more art and to spend with you guys here.

Happy Birthday PixelJoint and well done Sedge!!!

Oh yeah, we should start some sort of annual PJ b-day collab/contest.

Damn guys, thx.  The best part of the past year has been getting to know you guys and your work -- no bs.  I'd really like to thank all the peeps who have contributed to the site dev and I gotta have a special holla out to the_keller (whereever the heck he is), pixelblink, iSTVAN and ripped monkey for helping me get the site going in the early days.  Pep Pig gets a special thanks too for pushing me to develop this site to Version 2 just when I was starting to wane a little bit.

The name of the family tree site is kintracker.com.  Check it out.

By the way - this is ripped monkey. Something seems to be wrong with my name...

This is, I think the 3rd or 4th website I've seen this guy build in his spare time.  He's like a rat that has to keep knawing or his top teeth will grow out of his head.

The first site I saw was a simpsons site. Stored simsons quotes I think. Cant remember really. Then there was "Sedgetools" (www.sedgetools.com) A name I coined that he hated but it stuck and I pwn. Sedgetools was great. A portal/blog/communication thing. I only recently retired it because the rest of the internet caught up with rss portals. He was way ahead of the loop on that one. Then there was the family tree site. Cant remember the url. It was (or is) pretty cool, but nobody caught on. Then pixeljoint. Well you know the history on that one.  Watching him build this site and bring in a so many people and become a hub of activity and community for pixel art has been interesting to watch and Ive learned a lot (and I steal his ideas constantly).

If he doesnt burn out, he will probably get rich on one of his sites. And you can all say you knew him when...

I realize too that my skills wouldn't have changed at all without this site. I never strayed outside of isometrics until I started making little icons for this site. Never knew that it'd go even further.

I'd like to also thank everybody else who makes a daily appearance here to make this site so community orientated. The participation of PJ's members is something I tried getting together in the past at deviantART and could never seem to do. There's something special going on here.

Aside from being an extremely well-run and designed website, PixelJoint is one of the few communities that I really feel a part of.  It's got a great uploading system, and friendly members that give each artist great advice.  Without this website, I would have never improved my pixel art skills.  I have definitely seen no other art community that is as well set up as this, and I place an almighty crown on Sedge's head for creating this amazing place!

I'd like to thank sedge for making this pixel artist community, it really was and still is a great source of knowledge for all of us pixel freaks. Pixel Joint has always been of great influence on my pixeling techniques and such in a very good way. Pixel Joint made has improved me greatly. Respect to sedgeman and all members who keep this site alive.

"Pshh...whatever, Sedge can go suck on some elephant testicles for all I care...what a loser..."

Just kidding. It's really a great site to behold. If it weren't for this site, I never would have seen the other styles, and learned some techniques that I never knew about. This is not only a compliment from me to Sedge, but more importantly, its a realization for Sedge to understand that he has built something fantastic for others involved in pixel art to use, and has become a great outlet for our ideas and creativity. (Not to mention it's always nice to rip on em' when I get the chance.) It's good bastards like sedge that make the world go round. Truly, one of my all time favorite websites that I have ever had the priveledge to be a part of.

Keep the good times coming sedge, ya goofy bastard...

Congratsifications. Haven't been here that long, but you've got some solid bidness going on. Huzzahs and such are in order.
