Lospec.com - website with pixel art resources

Hey everyone, I've been working on this website for the better part of the last year, and it's finally ready to be released.

The idea is to have a bunch of free, useful, online tools for people who create pixel art (and other similar art forms).

The website currently has:
  • Lospec Pixel Editor - simple online pixel art creation tool
  • Palette List - database of pixel art palettes from artists and different hardware systems. Each can be downloaded in lots of different formats.
  • Software list - a of the most used software with a quick summary of features for pixel art and voxel art, to help people choose the one that's best for them
I hope to keep expanding the site, I have plenty of ideas but could do more if I had more time and resources, so I started a Patreon as well, please check out out.

@sked: Well, that's up to you. With many palette variations it can get a bit messy...but at least you let ppl know there's more than one option (and not just that one). With the C64; Ptoing's version is broad & bright while Pepto's is dark and muted.

And I just discovered that the guy behind the Pepto palette recently have engineered a new C64 palette: "Colodore"

This is pretty neat stuff :)

That NES palette looks strange too. But I also had a lot of trouble finding an accurate one for this week's challenge. Wikipedia was definitely wrong on the NES one.

I got most of the hardware palettes from wikipedia. Do you think I should have the variations?

DawnBringer (Level 10 Maniac) @ 11/8/2017 07:37

Not saying it's wrong, just haven't seen that version before. I currently have three C64-palettes listed in my Toolbox: Ptoing's, Pepto's and Wikipedia. Not sure what the sceners prefer, but I like to think of Ptoing's as the "default" :)

Ha, I just found & visited the site earlier today, before reading this!

Btw. Where did you find that odd C64 palette?

Strazt (Level 4 Mercenary) @ 11/7/2017 12:22

Cool stuff!

Nice work, and thanks for letting me watch your progress! I hope the palette database will grow grow grow :)
