Hi guys,
I was just working on a sword yesterday and I don't really know what I want to achieve with it, but I just want to know what you guys think of it and what could be improved. ![]() 2nd ![]() You see I have two versions of it. They both have different shades and the left one has one color that's different. I don't know which is best, so, help me! xD Edited by Fenne - 26 December 2008 at 3:14am |

i have never done a nice sword before so i'm not really sure...but i dont believe you need any help.
Comment: Very nice, could add anything you want to it. Make an animation, being the sword is good. Your latest version is definitly the best one. (flames or sparkles would be apreciated.) Edited by volcom - 24 December 2008 at 11:43am |

Okay, thanks Volcom.
I've been revisiting my err.. colored lineart from Krysis. This is what I had before: http://pixeljoint.com/pixelart/34851.htm And this is what I made now: ![]() I'm not sure about it, because this i pretty much the first art I made without using the dither techniques. So C&C is really appreciated :) Edited by Fenne - 26 December 2008 at 3:14am |

That last character is funny! I'd work on the design more than the pixel art technique. What makes a good design is balance between elements, and unbalance to make the scene look funny. It's usually better to emphasize on only one or two features to make it look especially funny, so in this case i'd concentrate on making the nose look big and funny.
There is a lot of smooth curves in the face. It seems as though most shapes are based off spheres. To add variety and "interesting" factor to the piece, add triangles and squares! Maybe exaggerate the pointiness of the nose to make a triangle, or make it a massive square block to show its' mass. This variety will make the piece even more interesting & funny. |
