Hey, my name is Brendon Carpenter and I'm part of a small indie game studio. We had an idea recently that requires a pixellated Strandbeest, those serene and courageous gentle giants that live on the beach and are made of plastic tubes, lemonade bottles and reeds. They are very cleverly-designed machines built by Theo Jansen.

Here's what we want: visit www.strandbeest.com and/or Google "strandbeest" to get an idea for what these things look like. We'll take any resolution / number of pixels you want, and we want them in a side-view or isometric. We'll include your name in the credits. Animation is a plus, if you can handle it.

Just a complicated graphic that is not within our skills to create. We thought we'd post a 'challenge' here, to see if anyone wants to take a crack at it, before heading out to hire somebody instead.

Good luck, and thank you! Please feel free to use the graphic in any other projects, as long as we can share it!

- Brendon Carpenter

that part where it says "we want to say its a challenge so we doesnt have to pay for it" sounds really bad, if you ask me.

Well, I just wanted to be honest. We're just two guys making really simple video games in Flash and XNA, so we don't have much money to throw around. If we spend money, though, I don't know, it seems like we'd go to a more mainstream place like E-lance, no offense to you guys.

You must understand that we are just simple pixel artist. This is almost impossible, even for a paid professional.

However, here you will hardly ever, whereever you are from or whatever your reasons are, find someone to make some serious pixel art for free.

To us you are one of that huuuge group of small hobbiests with great plans, but just posting in the wrong place of the forum.

Hey, well, you would know better than I. I've just heard good things from the pixel art community, so I thought this would be a good place to see if anyone was interested.

This is a weird post...

Why is drawing a ton of lines out of your skill range??
The picture your asking for is just a bunch of sticks..

And you say any size, but i know you don't want 1x1
sprites...
