very nice, the legs are a bit out of proportion to the body, but other than that good job!

Hm, I think it looks pretty good that the legs are smaller, it sorta gives it a cool look.
Very nice work, Sedgemonkey!

This is meant to be a cartoonish type character.

Right away I loved the short legs. Really gives his upper body that biff feel. Great piece.

One crit though. His mouth kinda of looks like a french moustache, I think if you thickened that black line or pronounced the lips more it wouldn't look so moustache-ish.

Yeah, I see whatcha mean.  I think extending the wrinkles on the cheek might help too.

Brilliant stuff Sedge! Youre artsss skills really shine in the piece. Love it.

How could you not tell it was a cartoon?! Just look at that bazooka!

The colours are particularly cool, I dont mind letting the pallete go crazy when it comes to photoshop, heehe. His expression is also neato - I like the french moustach smile!

The only thing I can find distracting is his feet dont look like theyre touching the ground at the same angle, and they almost look impossible to hold in a natural stance, cartoon or not!

Lovely otherwise, and I like the non-distracting background aswell.

Amazing. I love the lighting. The laugh looks a bit awkward, due to more than one curve. Great piece still.

Everyone's approach is different.  I prefer to just slap on colors using the paint tool at different opacities ranging from 20% to 50%.  I use the quick keys "[" and "]" to quickly change the size of the brush.  I separate layers for each part of the pic and that's about it for my technique!

Learning the shortcut keys to Photoshop and Illustrator and the Macromedia products is well worth it.  It takes a lot of time and it's frustrating switching between apps, but you'll be rewarded with supreme efficiency which will save tons of time and effort in the long run.
