I usually am used to low-res pixels, and haven't really ever worked on one with a background like this so my enviroments are pretty... horrible, which is what I mostly need help with. Hoping I could get some constructive criticism to help improve this piece.

Well, I have to confess a deep love for empty sketchy backgrounds, so don't change anything for me please.

Ok, make it a bit cleaner, add a little funny something like a silly bird, a yeti or whatever if you want, but don't overdo it!
Other kings on the other hills?

Maybe the clouds are either too white or too large.

Check some of tomic's pieces, too.

I really dig these guys of yours. Nice shoes!

The background feels a bit too empty to me though... :(

A silly bird sounds fun, so I'll give it a shot. I will also play around with the clouds as you suggested while looking at Tomics lovely work.

Thanks. :)

I agree with Manupix,

The clouds stand out a bit too much from the background. Perhaps give them a tranparent "feel" by adding a bluer hue or make the outline fuzzier.

Also, again agreeing with Manupix, don't go adding too much stuff to the background, it feels nice and simple, and the piece is overall very nice on the eye. I like the idea concerning other little guys far in the background as kings (n' queens?) of (some/the) other hills!

Keep up the good work mon!

[Edit, typos]

Thanks for the criticism. :) I edited the clouds and cleaned the hill he is standing on slightly. I just want to know if those colours look decent as the clouds even though I had to add two more colours to the list. D:
If there is a way I could break this down to 18 colours or so, that'll be awsome, but I can't find it.

I'll start on the other suggestions as soon as I find out. :)

Fast commy:

The clouds look much better now!

EDIT: The stick looks a bit sad as opposed to the character's definition. Perhaps a tad o' teh shadin' thingy on it would be teh niceness >:3

- Fixed the "sad" stick, I think...
- Added more to the background
- Thickened the legs
- Slightly lengthened the left arm

Better?

Looks good.

I'm not sure the hill is better for removing that lighter patch. It looks really flat now. Simple doesn't need to mean flat!
It wasn't perfect at first either, but I'm sure there's a way to give it that volume by just using a one or two patches here and there.

The stick need its own 2-pixel shadow.

Alright, I replaced the hill light patch to give it the depth you where talking about. Also, the stick now has a 2x pixel shadow. This any better?

Aha, thank you Mr. Snail.

I will now proceed to add whatever comes to mind and submit this into my gallery. Thank you for your help, SMK and Manupix.

Also, I'm bringing this into the pixelation forum for final inspections.

Hello!
First of all ... excellent image! I love that style of drawing.

Although many people may not agree, these are my comments (personal opinion) :P
- I do not think that large clouds show that they are behind another cloud. It looks kinda like a cloud with a hair for me :P (first impression)
- In the landscape of the Left, it seems that the two rows of mountains start from the same place ... I prefer those on the right.

Anyway, its just a great drawing :D.

I agree with you about the landscape and perhaps I could change the clouds a bit. Thank you. :)
