I've been working on this for a long time. I've remade it several times and I've never been happy with it. I'm looking for constructive criticism or any animations I could use for reference of similar stances. I can take any constructive criticism so don't be scared to critique.

Right now he looks like he's dancing. What kind of fighter is he, and what is he keeping in mind when he holds a stance? Some notes:

-In boxing, the arms are kept locked with the fists close to the face, I assume to block punches and to throw them quickly. They tend to be jumpy because they have to keep moving, also they modify their stance constantly as a feint. A video:

-In almost every martial art, the stance is different. Of course, you could have every character doing the same punches and kicks, but where's the fun in that?

Answer these questions before you get back to spriting: Why is he stanced the way he is? What moves are easy to execute from the way he stands, or, what is he protecting? Is he trying to intimidate or confuse his opponent?

I'm going to go ahead and post the answers to those questions for anyone wanting to help with criticism.

-He's a hyperactive kinda guy. That's why he's so all over the place.
-His moves consist of mainly punches and anything involving the arms. The legs are barely used when fighting
-He kinda has to protect everything considering he doesn't have anything protective on
-Intimidate

If he's hyperactive, I would make his legs move more, even if he doesn't fight with them. Maybe he jumps in place or jumps from one foot to the other.

Best example I can find is this guy, after the match starts and before he starts showing off.

In any event, I think his arms will make more sense if his feet are moving too.
