This is my friends (basic yes, very very basic) robot. How exactly would he go about doing this? I don't wanna do it for him because I want it to be all his work. But he still needs advice. Something I am rubbish it. :(

Proportions are off. Also, tell him to add shading and make sure he doesn't pillow-shade or gradient-shade. :P

Gradient shading can look good if used right, but yea no pillow. I would say to add some more hinges. Such as the elbows and knees. I think he looks to much like a human right now. Make him look more jagged in certain areas.
