![]() i tought the one first one was best so i continued from that one. i dont know how to improve anymore. just added a eye and a bit shading.
also i was trying to get the hair to look more like real hair but i dont know how to do that.

![]() moved the eye closer to the center of the face and down a bit. your colors are a bit saturated, you don't really want to be using oranges for shadows on skin, go for more of a brown. what you need to do is pick a lightsource, and block in areas of shadow and highlight according to the direction of the light. this is where it's useful to know the planes of the face and what will catch light here or cast a shadow there. also i fixed the nose a little Edited by cure - 13 August 2010 at 2:13pm |

still a little unsure where the light source is. if top left, think about the bottom of the nose, the shadow the head/jaw would cast on the neck, etc. as of right now your light source is a little inconsistent though.
also i wouldn't outline the hair with that skin shadow, it'd take a spotlight to cast such a crisp shadow and it just flattens the image (and implies the light source is coming from the viewer's position) |

it was better before imo. you illuminated a plane, now you've just got slivers of highlight along the edges and no definition of the cheek. needs more contrast as well.
and i'm still still unsure or which direction the light is coming from, precisely marking it would be helpful for us. the problem of outlining the clump of hair with shadow is still present. ear needs work, that dark color is too stark and you could shade parts of it to give it volume. |
