The shoulders seem a little to busy, and he seems to be missing a head.

sprite as a whole suffers from readability issues. at this small size, you should be worried about conveying the actual forms, detail is secondary. the contrast is too high on most areas, which is good for showing depth if used correctly but as it's used on details here, it just creates a lot of confusion. I'd forget the details, and block this out in maybe 4 colors, solidifying the forms before moving on to less important aspects of the piece.
