Hello there!
I've started another image... but there's a problem. It looks ok (no details, not polished - the image is just a sketch) on the light background and totally crappy on the dark one =\ When i've started adding details and aa - everything's become even worse. So i've canceled all changes. ![]() ![]() I know a few tricks to settle this issue in traditional art, but i'm totally new to pixel art. Outlines are killing me =( Thanking in advance for yor advice! |

Visually, without zooming in, I couldn't tell the difference between the outline color and the dark background color. Just darken the outline to something like RGB-(32, 36, 42).
That slightly darker outline looks almost the same on the white background, so it won't cause a problem there. Keep in mind that most likely your character will never be on a pure white background. So even if it looks good on that, it won't matter. Ideally a character would look good on any background, but that's not always possible in all situations, so make sure you're judging your character based on the sorts of backgrounds that it actually will be on. |
