I drew up my own avatar, last night I think it was, and it was apparently rejected for revision  today for a miscellaneous reason. I'm not sure what I did wrong with it though. Here it is:

Thats a lot of pillowshading o.O It really should be revised. I am sending back for this reason but you can still use for avatar. Do try to work on it tho. The forum is there if you need help :)

Overall your avatar is not a bad design but the coloring has many problems. Most problems are due to the lack of the most basic of pixelart techniques. The pillowshading, color count, semi transparent layer and lack of definition being the most glaring. Since you are new to pixelart and this is such a small piece its worthwhile remaking it anew.
Instead of editing for you its probably best if you check out the pixelart tutorial and the n00btorial threads in the resource section first and let that marinate in your brain. Then redraw and post an update. This will show others many things. If all makes sense and your update clears up the major issues then we know you get the general concepts of pixelart and then more focused c+c can be offered to you.
If your revision lacks the basics again then we can help you along on a step by step basis.

* Your Moltres piece is good for a beginner and I would add to the gallery now that you removed the BG. However, it may be smart for you to work on your avatar first and then take whatever you learn and revisit the Moltres piece because it can be improved too. I truly think you are just lacking the basic pixelart skillset. You don't have to be a master of these basics right away you simply must be aware of them and use them as your building blocks to the medium.
