Hey, I'm really new to both this forum and pixel art in general. This is one of my first works with pixel art, it is the pyro from team fortress 2.

Tips / Critisism / Comments please

It's nice but I have two major comment/critiques, first the gun of the flamethrower is akwardly proportioned vs. the pyro itself, second even though you intend the flamegun to be shadowed it just ends up sticking out as a sore thumb when only one color is used.

Personally, I don't find the single color of the flamer to be a problem. The proportions are weird, but this is inspired by Team Fortress 2, so the proportions are going to be funky.

I think this piece is good, but I do think his clothes would benefit from a sharper highlight to really bring out the shape. You might consider creating a dark background or a black outline for this. The mask doesn't look quite right, but it's hard to tell without the reference picture that you used when drawing this.

It's doubly a problem both because its obviously a big area of one solid color, so its very flat looking, and because there is a flame burning right there that is apparently giving off no light.

Anyway, the biggest thing I'd say is that your edges are all very jagged. You should work on smoothing out all those jaggies first. I think theres a piece in the noobturials that demonstrates how.
