We're looking to partner with an artist next weekend for a 72 hour challenge speed videogame development challenge.

We're going to start by chatting with each other and coming to an agreement about the kind of game we want to make. We're not really interested in making anything too complex or art heavy since we just want to get our games into the market.

Most of our time is going to be spent honing and polishing whatever idea we come up with our the course of this week. We will dive into development Friday morning. We'll showcase what we have in this thread Sunday evening.

In anyone interested in trying this out? We don't care how complex or simple the art is. That's the artist's choice and we will respect that.

By the way we're working on one this weekend too.

It's called "Beelzebub Hates His Dinner (And He's Going To Heaven To Complain!)".

Here is the sprite sheet we're using:

I'll keep updating this thread on the progress we're making through the weekend. So far we've gotten our platforms to randomly generate but we also need to setup a combo system in tandem with the platforms themselves.

You'll see :)

"Beelzebub Hates His Dinner (And He's Going To Heaven To Complain!)" Update 1

Implemented (very unrefined at the moment):

* Randomly generating platforms.
* Combo system for touching the platforms (It doesn't break the combo yet for touching the same platform twice - dang it!)
* Score system counting how high you go.

Very interesting... Although 72 hours is nothing to make a whole game graphics, I'm sure 2-3 sprites + a tile set could be done.
