Hello everyone!

I've started to do pixel arts few months ago. After I've made some fail sprites and a few better-looking ones, I decided to grab one of my old fanarst and coloring it, so I could learn and practice everything step by step instead of just trying to make something without references.

About the fanart (link: http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/7048/capcomvsnamcobytakikaza.jpg ) I've made it in 2009, it's a Tekken and Street Fighter crossover based on an original art from Street Fighter vs SNK (link: http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/4825/capcomvssnkart.jpg ). Therefore I don't know how much am I dancing on the edge of copyrights and whatsoever, as the picture I've made is just a harmless fanart, I'm concernd that this post might be deleted by
the officers anytime soon. Or maybe not, we'll see.

The process. Here's the link too as it wont appear in it's actual size anyway: http://i.imgur.com/8fjgp.png

So, what I did here step by step: made the lineart, cleared it, choosed colors, shaded, shaded it more, practiced the so-called dithering, colored the lines where it was needed, checked the colors again, eliminated pure black and white, tried to not overdo anything, and finally anti-alising... oh that was a pain.
I didn't really knew how am I supposed to do it, and when I thought "hm, this might be it", I ended up with something like a blur effect... or it was like I shaded some parts again and gave them more depth. I'm still not sure if I succeeded or not. This is the main reason why I decided to register here and post this, in hopes that I might get some feedbacks from you and I thank you all in advance.

The final piece with AA (link for actual size again: http://i.imgur.com/uZnmR.png ). Yes, no background yet, but I'm planning to do one, so it's still not completly finished. Here's a link for the version without AA too: http://i.imgur.com/MrnDx.png

Edit: my links worked when I posted it first, now they are all gone no matter how many times I'm trying to edit them... I'm really sorry for this *sad*

Meanwhile I'm working on the backround. I don't really want to copy the one from the original fanart, but make something similar. Ended up with a sunset feeling and city background. Feels a bit empty and I think I should try out other colors, but I wanted to stick with those I already have on my palette.

Also, I decided to show my palette and a close-up to show how my anti-aliasing looks like. Still curious if it's alright or fail.

The palette. In the 3rd row are the colors I used for AA.

with the contrast as it is those aa colors aren't really necessary, the difference is nearly negligible at 1x.It's also a good idea to use a color fully for shading entire planes, rather than restrict it to only AA.

the abs aren't convincing, you need references of actual musculature. On the leftmost guy, the pec on our left isn't connecting (should meet the deltoid rather than sneak behind the armpit). shape of his head is pretty wonky too (no room for chin, uneven eyes, jawline incorrect given position, etc). neck also needs examining. the dithering on the figures is mostly distracting imo.

Thank you for the advices Cure! I'll definitely redo the left guy as soon as I can and then color the piece once again without over-dithering some parts.
