use references. it seems very obvious, so I'm not sure why so many new artists forgo reference images, but that's what's required. you're trying to pixel a head, but it's clear you're not really sure what a head looks like. you know the basic symbols: eyes, nose, ears, all on a rounded shape, but you don't know the sizes of these things, or their position relative to one another, or all of the underlying anatomy beyond these basic symbols (jawline, chin, anatomy of upper lip, etc)
so get references of human heads at roughly the angle you're trying to depict, and pay attention to the sizes and spacing of all the individual parts of the face. it's also helpful to know the shape of the skull, and how the skull affects the shapes of the face. no real crit I can give other than it's all wonky. ears are too small (and completely different sizes), nose is too small, mouth is too far down and off center, the right eye is practically on the side of the head. the lower half of the head should be scrapped altogether. tl;dr get photo references, or a mirror, and pay more attention to how the features relate to everything around them. |
