Hi!

I just had today an idea for a new type of collaboration: everybody could share a simple drawing/shading tutorial, by including some intermediary images and some comments.

For example here is a shading which I draw quickly (the lineart is based on an old pencil drawing of mine):

The base lineart
Giving colour for each body part (hehe, there aren't many)
Making the basic shading
More detailed shading
Smoothing the outlines
Adding some more detail.

So, my idea would be that anybody/somebody would take the same (or another) lineart, and shade it in his own style, posting some intermediary steps also, so others can learn from him.

What do you think?

And here is another image...

This is the lineart (duh :-) )
I selected the colors for the car and did the flat shading
Added some shadows and highlights
Added some more shading. Also I started the inverse antialising (or selective outlining, or how do they call it :-)
A bit more detail at the lamps, more sel-out
Finished selout, changed the shading at the front of the car, the oval highlight was a bit unrealistic. Also changed the color of the tires and added highlights/shadows
Well, I got angry with the car and started to destroy it ;-)
And voili, one used old broken car comming up ... :-)

Btw, please let me know what do you think about this collaboration. If you don't like it, just let me know (and move this thread to WIP)

I enjoyed reading how you go about your art. I would post some of
mine however i have no small pieces yet, so there would be like 50
stages, plus the graphics have to be shown to no1.

This is a great idea, hopefully others will show their stages. It is also
good for beginners who want to get into it.

I really like the twist you took with it by smashing it up.
