Hey PixelJoint community!

Fresh newb here. And by newb I mean this is my first time ever attempting pixel art. The closest things to art I've done is a color theory course I took for credits and some doodles in notebooks... but I digress.

I've respected and enjoyed pixel art for a while now and finally decided it was time to start dabbling in it. I read the tutorial by cure (which I picked up from r/pixelart) and the Noobtorials Hapiel collected.

I decided my first project will be an avatar for myself on PJ. I also took cure's advice and limited myself to a 4 color palette similar to the Gameboy.

At first I had no idea what I wanted to create. I mostly was messing around with all the buttons, knobs, and icons grafx2 had. I started with shapes and eventually ended up with what you see above. It is far from complete as this is my first stage and attempt.
