So, I finished laying down the sprite and finnaly got to animate this simple, 2 frame GIF:
![]() Obviously a LONG way from being done, but I'm making progress. Not counting Flash, this is pretty much my first serious animation. Thanks a million to the awesome Zeratanus for helping me with my lighting source! Edit: Keep forgetting, if anyone has any C+C (still dunno what it stands for, critique and criticism?) for me, feel free to! Edited by 1337B337 - 27 September 2012 at 12:59pm |

Nice edit to the shoes :)
for a two frame animation its not bad. There are a few problem areas, like the jagged section on the back of the outward leg's pants Its pretty jumpy too, but there's not much you can do in a 2 frame animation and not have it be jumpy. Try to add a few more frames and some upper body movement ![]() Edited by Zeratanus - 27 September 2012 at 2:05pm |

Thanks for your input.
I'm planning on focusing on the legs first, then the upper body. I found the jaggies even before I up'ed the picture, but I had already exported it as a GIF, so I didn't waste time. Edit: Current progress, cause I'm stoppin' for the day: ![]() Edited by 1337B337 - 27 September 2012 at 3:11pm |

Theres nothing wrong with animating in pieces, but depending on how much you're planning on doing with this, I'd personally do it all at once.
Reason being is that each movement of the body effects other parts as well. Moving the legs moves the waist moves the torso moves the arms. Animating first just as outlines or as wire figures can make that a lot easier, but it all depends on what you're in to. Not trying to pressure you into doing it all at once, just throwing out my two cents |

I find it easier to focus on one thing at a time, that way I don't become overwhelmed trying to get everything exactly right.
