MY EYES!!! THEY BURN!!! X_X
Reduce the high saturated color on her. Other than that, I like her.

Colors are an artistic choice so even though these colors hurt the eyes its fine. However, the piece overall could use a little more contrast so its better defined and readable.

Definitely looks better, but I think you could push the contrast even further.

You've also got a lot of unnecessary colors in there, I got rid of some (not all) of them in my edit. Anatomy wise I put fingers on the hands and added a shoulder.

You'll never improve at pixelart then. We never mean 'change' the colors we always mean refine them. Notice cure did not change your 'colors' but defined and refined them.

well gee that's a bit drastic eh? i have no problem refining things i thanked cure and im working to improve my own but the other user said that they did not like the saturation and to change it so yeah...they did "mean 'change' the colors" so please make sure you've got your facts right before you just go out and say something rude '~'

It might seem a bit harsh but it's true. Most of the time, it will be others judging your work and if there is critic, make sure to consider it fully before dismissing it. It is also generally polite to give more of a reason for dismissal than stating that you want it to be bright and cheery. You can have less eye-injuring colours and still have a bright and cheery piece. Experiment with the colors a bit and post them here instead of being so quick to stick with your original piece. Good luck.

Allow me to step back in one more time. I didn't entirely mean, "Change the colors" like you thought I meant, and I do apologize for the misguided advice. What I meant to say was that the colors you choose, and your lack of shading on the piece, drowned out the picture, and with this forum's bright background, and the character's lack of inner shading, you couldn't easily see the details. It was like staring into the sun: the flare took away from the overall shape of it.

For that reason, I brought up the "MY EYES!!! THEY BURN!!" joke, so as to inspire a little humor and editing. I like the color scheme, but the shading was not all there. I'm glad that Cure edited it. Now it looks better. Without changing any of the colors, but instead adding new ones, or replacing old ones, it improves the depth of the character, and takes away some of the eye strain the original produced.

Please understand that my comments are, by no means, a way of disparaging an artist. However, I do have the option of stating my opinion. I'm sorry that the last one was not as descriptive as it could have been.

oh no! i didn't take offence at that at all i understand that people have different tastes and i was ready to move on with the other suggestions like how i need to fix the contrast..etc witch i am working on! and please don't be sorry your in no wrong =A=; you just stated what you think! in all honesty i don't even know why all this is getting blown up! everything's just getting all jumbled up at this point! i mean i will admit i probably worded it badly when i said i wont change the colors but that was just in reply to the saturation thing i really didn't expect people to think i was out right refusing to change anything on a board where you ask for help..i mean it was just a simple answer to a simple suggestion. but still thank you to every one who's been trying to help XD

Nothing I said or implied was rude. On the contrary, my intention was to help you improve your skills and your pixels so they can be gallery ready and added by the Mods, some of whom take technical prowess seriously...out.

sorry for calling you rude but was it really necessary to jump right to "you'll never improve"? i mean i know you were helping i took your advice and cure helped even more with the edit i really just don't see why you had to go back after all that and say what you did...

...in...

It was entirely necessary to jump in and make the point to you
(as a Mod, a fellow artist and someone who once too did not know the importance of color and palette refinement in making good pixelart which has furthered improved my color sense in all art I create)
that firmly stating...
'good to hear but sorry i wont be changing the colors,'
was an unwise personal choice and the wrong attitude that was totally rude but noone called you on, and being that firm when in fact you completely failed to see the validity of the points made in YOUR progress would serve nothing and in fact would only lead to never making any progress or improve. That was in no way rude and is entirely the truth that I pointed out. Pixeljoint is very inclusive and helpful and we are very proud of that. All PJers can be quite the butt-kissers but just as many just tell the truth and expect whomever is being told to accept learn and make progress on their own if they so choose.

...this thread is now at 18 comments > 2 are your WIPs (w/o feedback/effort) > 16 are all saying the same thing in different tones, ways and angles... :/

*I only commented in the first place because the title of your thread is something I value here and often ask new members to do when I've sent pieces back for 'technicalities'. Believe me that your thread was important to me. Your art was nice but lacked something very important  to pixelart and lucky for you cure took some of his time to show you instead of verbalizing...you seemed to have gotten the point and 'WOWed' over it but have yet made any effort to update and refine your colors. Good luck, best wishes, Happy Holidays.

**@PJers, If I've ranted and gone off track or have made a mistake while busy working and need to return here to make amends or apologize...PM me.

Jalonso is right, this site and forum is meant to be a place where dedicated pixel artists critique each other so that they can further improve their techniques and not make the same mistakes in the future. Occasionally, some comments meant to help can sound rude but that's how it is if you really want good advice. Try not to take the comments too personally and instead apply it to the art. If instead we all praised your art, that would do nothing to help you.

It's necessary to have other people review your work before you show it to a wide audience as well. After you stare at your art for so long, you get used to seeing the shapes and colours as proper and you won't notice the flaws as easily. Other people who weren't exposed to it will most likely be able to pick up on those things at once.
