Hi everyone! I posted an offer about a month ago about this but it turns out my artist has more personal work to take care of than he thought so he won't be able to do it after all.

The name's David, and I'm looking for an illustrator / animator to partner up with to work on an action adventure game. It's going to be an open world, side-scrolling platformer and will revolve around a treasure hunter who finds himself trapped under a deserted island and needs to find his way out, finding powerups along the way to progress further in the island, like high-jump boots and wall-grip gloves, kind of like Metroid, but with a modern day explorer instead of a space bounty hunter. As he goes further in the island, he finds himself in an alien, fantastic environment with weird but beautiful vegetation and creatures.

While it doesn't show a lot, here's a screenshot of the game engine so far, using placeholder graphics from Krash's Adventure;



I'm aiming at a style similar to Spelunky or Maple Story. While I have nothing against low resolution pixel art, I'd prefer having graphics at a resolution at least as high as a Super NES or Sega Genesis game.

The game will be published for PC and Ouya, and possibly other Android devices that support physical controls. We can share the profits in a 50/50 ratio. I don't exactly have a deadline for the project but I would expect the game to be finished by summer or autumn 2014.
