This is a hotel off the coast of Dubai in the United Arad Emirates. I'm not anywhere near done with it, but wanted some feedback on what I have so far. I know that the spire and far fin are too high above the building, so I'm working on shortening those. Sorry about the bright background, but it helps me see what I'm doing better.

I've finished reducing the top of the fins, although I do not like the way the edges look. I also completed the closer fin and added some lighting effects on the building.

Very interesting structure.  The edges look very pronounced against that bright green bg... that might be part of the problem.

Yeah, the finished product is going to be more like this:

The background helps some, but it still looks awefully rough in some areas.

Oh very cool. The background helps a ton in my opinion.

this hotel is the most expensive hotel in the world I'm told. I had a coworkers parents visit this place and they brought back a book about it. It is truly a marvel of architecture. You should provide a link to your reference pixture

Sorry if this picture looks a little odd, it is a scan of the magazine I'm working out of.

The magazine is a specialty issue of time magazine devoted to great buildings of the world. After scanning the picture and seeing it in a folder right next to my drawing I realized how off my colors are.

Looks great so far. You are missing the circle thing towards the top of the building. Also, the top spire looks a little to thick. You really only then need to work on the island and the lights on in the building. Can't wait to see the final picture.

Okay, I'm almost done. All I have left is to finish up the island. I might recolor the front middle portion after I finish if the mood strikes me, and I know I didn't do the background, but I would rather fix it to be transparent than spend so much time on a background myself. I'm lazy.

Suggestions and comments are definately welcome at this point.

Excellent work buddy. You've really put forth a great effort with this and it shows.

Okay, I finally finished the island, and I think I'll leave it how it is, unless someone points out a large mistake, other than the coloration. You can find it here:

Great work, but don't forget to pixelate the sky too.
Reaching out to embrace the random.
Reaching out to embrace whatever may come.

I embrace my desire
to swing on the spiral of our divinity
and still be a human.

*huff* Man... I am not prepared to spend so much time on the sky and have it look like crap . Would it be more acceptable if I made it transparent?
