Ok I took the feedback I've gotten so far and tried to put it to use, I played around with the original for a while but I couldn't get it right so I started from the ground up, this time taking into account the various tips and stuff from a few of you, I think its much better than the first try but I know its still not up to par with anyones best work. I appreciate the feedback and I am going to spend as much time as I can working to get better, hopefully my progress will show eventually.
I'm still pretty bad though Thanks for the info/feedback, I cant comment on the gallery for some reason so thanks to the people who helped on there as well. -Viktor Original (first try) V2 (second try) Edited by ViktorOneTwo - 11 April 2015 at 7:23pm |

I'm just a newb but the face seems too spaced to be effective... to me anyway.

I agree now that you mention it, I wanted it to look like his facial features are sliding down as he melts but it does look odd, thank you for pointing that out lol
this look any better? |

Hey, vast improvements, dude! c: great work.
I quite like this little scene. Poor little guy. I just have a few comments~ 1. that's a pretty dark cloud outline there. 2. the sun's rays, while iconic and cute, could be a little more uniform, possibly smaller. 3. Honestly, I think it might look good if you removed the tree and shifted the cone over a bit to the right. 4. What's the random grass bump near the cone? 5. I don't know how I feel about the green in the border. That being said, I do love the little golden crowns cx |

Awesome, Thanks for the ideas. I'm going to give em all a try, it does feel like there's too much going on with the tree there, i was thinking about changing the color of the sky too or something to make it a little less flat but i don't really know how lol
I tried out the suggestions you made and i think it really helps, thank you :D |

You are doing nicely.
A bit more contrast should help a lot. When making pixelart look at your art at 1X and if you can't 'see' a color then that color is wasted and/or not serving a purpose. For example, you are using 3 greens but at 1X you really only see 2 so one is not needed. This also applies to the shading on the ice cream cone. --- FYI: When you make a WIP thread (unfinished or still working things out) and you submit to the gallery at the same time (completed and polished) then you confuse everyone because it could be a waste of time to give C+C when you're done (submitted) and the Mods ignore your submission because its an active WIP. |

Thank you very much, very useful stuff to know, I can see what you mean about the "useless" colors, and I didn't even think about the gallery/WIP forum double posting thing, I just wanted to update my avatar but that's a good point, thanks!
