Hello,
My name is Cody Smith I am a pixel artist who has been working on a set or resources for a game concept I've been wanting to pursue for years. I wish to invite you to join me in expanding the resources. As I am no professional artist my skill set is limited so I had the idea to seek out hopefully like minded individuals who would like their hand in my cause. I am not making any hopes for this to get past this resource phase, I just want to expand this idea I've had for a couple years into something tangible. Even if you aren't interested in joining I'd like to hear your opinions. I look forward to hearing your response.

Here is a abstract of my concept:
A game that has more life to it than any other of its type.

  • Top down in the perspective of Legend of Zelda
  • Generated terrain that can support different cultures and creatures
  • Plant life that expands and detracts giving a sense of a living world
  • Animals that have populations, dens, territories, and interract with their surroundings
  • Migration of creatures and people
  • the people start with nothing, but soon settlements are built...the land cultivated...roads built...trade and war
  • the world will progress with or without the actions of the players
  • technology and magic coexisting and slowly advancing
  • phases of the world that go through cycles of progress, famine, crysis, and peace
  • player and npc made quests
  • guilds formed by towns that specialize in what the culture are experts at
  • skills are either learned through experience or taught by others
  • background story based on player interractiion in the early game and player input during character creation
  • limited supply shops, economies, trade, jobs, crafting, and professions
  • dungeon crawling, puzzle solving, princess saving, cave exploring, location naming, map making, mountain climbing, adventure parties, monster looting...the list goes on
  • friends, partys, town building, PvP, PvE, Raiding, Scaling Difficulty, Balancing systems
  • Recruiting, Bounty Hunting, Spying
  • Falconing, Scouting, Swimming, Boating, Fishing, Hunting, Trapping, Farming
  • Unique Items, Player Made Items (limited but still there), Full Trade, Hybrid-able combat system (realtime)
  • Letter, Book, and Music writing
  • Instruments and fanfare.
  • Non-Combat required (Other play styles then just combat)
  • Long-form days (~4-8 ingame days per real day), Time in game based on actual time
  • seasons and weather
  • events
  • single player and multiplayer functionality
  • always evolving game (not necessarily expanding always)
  • Mounts & Pets (Swimming, land and flying)
  • Machines & Archane Creations
  • Afterlife
  • Towns have Graveyards and Mourning the death of fellow NPC
  • Build a name for yourself...or don't
  • Open to suggestions

All colors are not final, I decided to not spend loads of time making a palette and just used my submission for the latest 16 color challenge
The face would be replaced with your char's, with armor(?)
more item slots, obviously
Either the corner metal or the metal bar on both (or just one) side(s)
Empty, Sword, Map, and Bread, respectively

Previous was for the bag/inventory/backpack gui
This is the in-game gui overlay. Left button brings up the weapons menu, right brings up the backpack gui.
