Hi everyone!

I'm participating in a horror jam and I'm creating a point and click game.
This is the initial screen with the characters:

I would really appreciate some feedback on it: if the style is weird, if the image per se is weak, if there are wrong placed pixels, if the colors are not right...or any other detail you notice!

Thanks in advance!

so i think that the biggest problem is that the character sprites are very dissonant, they're pixel size is an odd combination of small and larger cluster of pixels, and that doesn't fit the characters and the background.but i do think that the background and perspective is very good.

The perspective of the room and table don't match. The carpet also seems to have its own thing going on.
The far window near the door is wider than the near window.

If you want a perspective look, I highly recommend taking the time to work out the perspective with the vanishing points and some guide lines. Alternatively, consider using some sort of axonometric projection rather than perspective, so that it's easier to draw different objects. That way you can also avoid the awkwardness of sprites needing resizing based on their position in the room.

@Checkus, yeah, I noticed the characters are not matching. Started detailing the background and forgot about them hahaha I'll upgrade them.

@eishiya, I did draw a vanishing point for this room, however totally neglected it (not a conscious decision) as I painted everything.
Never heard of axonometric projection, I'll research about it and see if benefits the project :)

Thank you both for the replies!

I actually meant to say parallel projection, of which axonometric projection is just one group (the group that includes isometric projection). A parallel projection is any projection where parallel lines in-world are parallel on the image. Oblique projection is also a type of parallel projection, and it might be a good alternative to perspective projection.

Since your reply I've been reading about the axonometric projection and trying a few things on the room.
Came up with this (just distorted what I had so I can wrap my head around the concept):

Tried a dimetric projection here. I guess it's not good enough, but it's better than using perspective.
But will study about the oblique proj. too, and continue with the tests!

With this kind of view, isometric might be a better bet, it's more pixel-friendly and there are lots of resources on it.
