![]() This is my first pixel art piece ever. It's 9 different grass tiles, 1 pure grass, and the other 8 transitioning into dirt. It would normally be much smaller than this, but Imgur really wants to blur it, so I had to enlarge it. I know it's poor quality, but could you give me some feedback? I was going for a Stardew Valley look. Any constructive criticism is greatly appreciated! ![]() |

Could you please upload a version that hasn't been blurred? It's not possible to critique pixel art if it's been blurred, since the pixels matter in pixel art.
Or, if this is how you drew it and there is no "unblurred" version, then reconsider the tools you're using, as they're creating a lot of unwanted, uncontrolled colours. Pixel art is about control, and that means that any pixels and colours added to the piece should serve a purpose. Use tools that give you pixel precision and don't have automatic anti-aliasing. |

Fixed it now :) I did upload it as a png, but for some reason Imgur was intent on blurring it, so I just scaled it up. It is still a blurred a little bit, but not as much as before.

Weird, imgur never blurs your images unless you edit them in imgur.... Nice to see the crispy pixels (they are not blurred at all actually, double checked. It would still be nice to have the 1x version, it's nicer to see, we can zoom in and out ourselves (the forum has a zoom function) and potentially make edits on it..
Also, since you mentioned they are tiles, you might want to show an example with a larger field, tile-ability and pattern forming through repetition are important things to watch when you're making tiles! |
