I wouldn't really see Steve in this, but it seems you're already aware of that.
Why do you make him to frontal shaded? His note looks a bit pillow shaded. Right (dark) side of hair definitely works better than left side!

Are you intentionally making him look like plastic? I understand you have limited colors, but the highlights give it a very funny plastic-like texture!

The AA on the scars make it look thick rather than smooth, maybe break the dark line on the connecting corners and have some double width mid-brown (AA color) pixel to connect? (does that make sense?
