Been working on these for awhile now, still very WIP...but could really use any and all feedback from the talented artists here on PJ.
A few items in particular: - Shadows around the trees and houses (can't for the life of me get that to look natural) - The bushes...I don't like the bushes - The ends of the stone path feel off Thanks in advance ![]() |

Seems okay to me, but little on the generic side. And the road looks too "heavy" and out of place.

Odd things about the path: - why is the ground around the path darker than the ground elsewhere? - why is there a halo of dark, grass-free dirt around the path? Grass will grow anywhere it can, including in the cracks between the paving stones. Traffic can compact the earth enough that grass cannot grow there, but this usually results in lighter ground, not darker, and it's usually not such an even halo around the pavement.
- in addition to it being unnatural to have an even halo around the path in general, the even edges also don't match the perspective of the scene. Since the camera isn't directly above the path but at an angle, elements should be squished vertically slightly. |

Thanks so much for the feedback. I think you're right...I started out with the dirt path and it felt empty so I added the stone to it. I'll try removing the dirt halo and instead just use the stone path with some grass clusters and perhaps a few traffic areas around the corners. I'll also add a bit of perspective to the ends of the path and see if that helps.

Consider making the stones on the path larger, too. They look like gravel compared to those large characters.

Yeah, I'm thinking larger and more rectangular now...if only it wasn't so tedious
