Hi Guys!

Just wanted to get some practice - i need a lot hehe - and quickly draw something after a long time of pause. What do you think?

I really wanted to go for some night mood with dark colors and tried to make some mirror effect of the city visible on the surface of the water. Probably I could do something with the coastline, but did not wan't to add any more detail there - like a street - because it is the background afterall!
Had troubles figuring out how to make the buildings look somewhat decent so I added a "side-shadow" effect on them. OK. Then tried some room lights also, but they look awful. I could not find a good color for them because I felt like if Im using the citylight for the room lights in the buldings thats way too much. Some ropes and a ship/floating-tier in the foreground, probably a bit too blocky but I did not want to use any new color for them. At least I think the helicopter is cool 3*3 + 1 pixel though :D And if you can notice the moon is hiding behind some clouds/fog :-)

Any crits and some thoughts in which directions do you think I could proceed to make this better are welcome :-) Cheers!

I was not able to tell that the helicopter was a helicopter. I thought it was supposed to be the moon at first, until I saw the dark pixels around it. Just something to consider.

As for the city lights, I would recommend changing them all to yellow since that is by far the most common light color in cityscapes, except maybe during the winter holidays. Also the skyscrapers should have more lights than just the first floor.

Thank you for the feedback Greycloak!

I worked a on the overall colors with the light colors. Tried to fix the helicopter too - should be a bit bigger/detailed. Also tried to add some more details to the skyscrapers, because actually the "first floor lights" are suppose to be some street/pathway light right at the coast/bank. I moved them down a bit - maybe they should be even closer to the water?
