Hi everybody !

I've decided to draw more detalic sprite (like hand)
But I don't know if it's ok, I wanted to draw it a little bit bigger but it's hard on the mouse.

Here is a pic of my self doing this gesture

What do you think about the sprite ?

It looks like some abstract art. Use posterize filter to convert the photo into pixelart, then recolor into a good palette (hint: not low contrast gray one), cleanup noise and fix lineart. Here is your photo in db16 palette.

I wanted to make it without filtring

I fell like it's an shortcut. Just like drawing a character, kind a tough process led me to make a great character (unfortunatelly next attempts weren't that good)

But I know that shortcuts aren't that great. So I thought there is some kind of technice to make the proportions kinda ok

Without shortcut there are higher chances of messing everything up, wasting time and gaining nothing. So if you have a 3d model, why not use it? Clay modeling, rotoscoping, etc.. were used by professional artists since the beginning, long before computer graphics was invented.

I've seen that most of the people are just drawing without it. Like in timelaps you know.

Most people do errors there, either small or large (i.e. the live art looks wobbly). Errors get reduced by endless training. Like you train yourself to play guitar, yet nothing will ever beat studio recording and editing.
