The base shape of everything you do in this style is based on that, so therefore it is best to use as many guides and grids as possible, otherwise it looks like its falling off the canvas. I believe your tombstones are too thin, they have a cardboard appearance and especially the medieval period was associated with massive slabs of stone. In my edit I also show how you can use a grid to make the base of the tree. What is the paper next to the tree? I would also add that your tile is a bit noisy thanks to the grass. I would perhaps suggest making the next-darkest shade of green the base color instead? You can also take a look at how Krugelix simplified the grass in their tile. You're making progress though! Every critique from before still stands Fishy, did you miss this? The graves are still not isometric. @Cloud: Happy you're still workin on it! I still want to say that there's too many diagonal lines, like in Fishy's tile. I did an edit of the signs to show it. Even if its pointing down those 2.1 pixel lines are what sell the perspective so they're important. The more they reappear in your tile the more you're selling your work as fully isometric. Same with the grass border if those lines were isometric it would help the tile tremendously! ![]() @Gawrone: I say keep the fork! It adds character. @Mirre: Love the cat attack! Stunning tile ![]() |

Not working out so well with #59, I'm a bit stuck. I'd like to give it up for now and claim #21 instead as I have a better idea there.

@cjlm123 you should probably put a little more effort into blending into your neighboring tiles since the tile edge is currently very noticeable.

Had a bit of a slow week trying to figure out the best way to work on this, so there isn't much progress (and I haven't worked on the little roofer any more just yet): ![]() @Mirre: Love the trebuchet idea and I've gone with that. Thanks! I had considered it being under construction but the roof tiles already being on the building made me rule that out. What I really wanted to do after you mentioned the trebuchet was to have the projectile visible through the hole with a clergyman looking down at it forlornly, but the isometric angles won't really allow a view all the way to the floor without there being a truly ridiculous amount of damage (most of it being below my tile), so I'll probably focus on the character of the workmen and just try to get some interesting architectural details in the hole. Basically the plan is to have some visible flooring, arches, pews, or whatever else lines up with the plans of Medieval churches I've looked at. I might still be able to pop a little priest in there, looking up at the hole maybe. Here's an updated version of the wider context to account for the change in floor level now Gecimen's tile is complete: ![]() |

Its a small part of you tile. |

@Eggy; First complete tile gets priority on what's going on with the border, of course within the limits of common sense. As the southwest of your tile is completely empty at the moment, it's quite easy to continue cjlm123's tile enough to blend with yours.

Thanks, my main concern was it taking up space that I otherwise would've wanted to use (although I suppose that could be solved by moving the structure to the right but idk how far the image should be stretched), the structure I'm making looking out of place as it is very different from the tile that it's now connected to (a round head thingy right in front of a wizard's house), and the potential difficulty of finishing the structure in the neighboring tile (as of right now I'm actually not sure how I can continue it, I might be able to figure it out). I intended to have a little path leading to the lower left corner (not yet done as I was focusing on the structure more since that's harder) and a character standing there. A bit sad that I wasn't able to complete the tile so fast as the house was the only structure that I planned to include in the tile but hopefully I can still work with this. |

Seems I've caused a bit of a ruckus.
@Eggy, I'll help whatever way you like if you need me to change stuff in my tile, but seems like you have a ton of horizontal space to extend to as its a border tile. I'll post a sketch or something of how I envisioned the entire structure of the big head guy tomorrow, maybe that would be useful? Regarding the border of tile 15 with tile 22, my main concern is that the shadow needs to extend into tile 22 to be more physically accurate, if Paperdomo101 doesn't wanna modify I'll change it as hapiel suggested. Not trying to be a diva, I'll defer to whatever the consensus for how these small issues should be handled is. (FWIW, I'm willing to make whatever small changes in my tiles that will help my subsequent neighbours) Edit: here's the rough idea: ![]() |

(FWIW, I'm willing to make whatever small changes in my tiles that will help my subsequent neighbours) Thanks, a sketch will be very helpful I believe. I have no problems with the tile at all (hell it looks great!), just got really worried that it would've disrupted or otherwise messed with what I was working on (particularly since it seems to blend into the surrounding tiles by quite a bit), and I'd hate to scrap my tile since I've already done some work and it's also a subject that I've been waiting to include in a collab for years. It would be great to make it work, had some passing ideas but something should come up later, my only worry was that I would not be able to make my tile work with the other tile while also preserving my original intention or at least the core idea. But so long as it can be made to work in a way that makes everyone happy, I'm sure up for it :) EDIT: Just saw the idea after posting. Looks pretty manageable! I can definitely try something like that. |

@Mirre looks great, the snail vs knight motif is a fun one. It always seems to be all over the place in old manuscripts and yet we have no idea what it really meant. Though as I recall usually the knight is on the losing side of things.

Well, i revisited and changed the horned god and now is more defined, and some minor changes. But then i added that aura around its body and i think it is what needed to really pop up in the scene!
tell me what you think, if you say its too much i can post the final version without the aura. ![]() |

@Gecimen Thanks, will definitely do that! Just wanted to throw a WIP up because I've made more progress today than I did all last week: ![]() Now I've worked out the view inside the hole, I'll expand it a little bit to allow for the timbers underneath the roof tiles like you suggested and I'll finish off texturing the external walls. I'm usually in my element drawing people, but that little guy on the roof is the bane of my existence. I'll keep working on him and I still want to add in at least one more.
