Trying out a different art style. I wanted to make a base sprite similar to maplestory but not look too chibi-like so I tried to keep the rest minus his head proportional.

I experimented with a secondary lighting source which wont be in the animations I have planned. Critiques are welcome (be harsh please).

I agree with maye about the colors. If you want to use a different hue in the highlights, you're probably going to have to use an inbetween color. Like purple in between blue and magenta, and yellow-green in between, well, yellow and green. Heehee.

I love the hair texture and the eyes look great! But... the two darkest browns are very similar. You can just barely tell they're two different colors. Maybe make the midtone a little lighter?
