Pixel Joint Forum: amphibian creatures [wip]

I'm making a pixel art DnD campaign. 
These guys are the magical monsters of each race in my campaign
The Frogs, Newts, Toads, Mud-puppies, And Locathah
I like most of the designs. Just the Mud-Puppy is freaking me out a bit. 
It's very creepy and I want it to look a bit friendlier. 
it does remind me of toothless a bit.
But any help on making these guys less creepy?

	I've been trying to get the newt more newty. I like the new one but I think the perspective might be off. I'm going for top down more in the realm of legend of zelda links awakening.
