Hello!

So, I have some project going and I am drawin lots of houses with their building processes included. This is a WIP as you can see:

Starting from the left, the middle one is a process of building a base (finished), middle one is supposed to be final (wip), and last one is somwhere in the middle wjhere the structure is being built (wip). So, what do you think? i think I must fix the little sand hill on the first stage. The main problem is, that there two types of background the dark (dirt/grass) and the bright yellowish one (sand):

So, all those yellowish lines must be clearly seen on sand texture also, but I don't want to lose the colors and shapes I already have. Any tips/tricks?

Interesting concept, but I (ignorant to all things iso) can't really comment, so I'll just sit by and watch it develop.

i like how this is nonconformist stuff. not the usual blocks but something more real.

i don't know what you're planning on doing with windows and stuff, but so far it looks nice. the yellow roof is slanted right?

couple of things though, the porch looks pretty worn out for such a new building, and i'm missing some shade

Well, porch is actually painted over to redish-dark, and besides, this house will probably be there for a long time anyway...

And yes, the roof with yellow outlines is slanted, obviously.

But as for the shades, jup, they are missing, but I have thought about them. usually I add shades when overall design is ready, and I don't have the windows and such. And shades give me another problem: this means that house must give shades to the surroundings also, that needs to be implemented into flash isometric engine, geez...

This looks interesting inkspot. I would love to see the structures placed on the ground tiles (both). I suspect that your colors are too close in hue to show much details in the final project. The shadow engine could help, but might just be overkill and not worth the effort. SimCity didn't use shadows for a long time and the player is never distracted by it. I would concentrate on the coloring of the structure which entail a lot more attention to detail and adjust the tiles and theirs color to conform and contrast to the structures (and their yellow lines), not the other way around as you seem to think...........ramblin........

Well, here is another building I did a while ago, I tested it on both backgrounds and it was seen. But my eyes see things anyway, so you test them!

So, what you think?

And yes, that wip house is still as it is, I haven't pixeled anything yet.
