Hi all,

I have been lurking pixeljoint for a few months and really appreciate your guys work. Now, I have finally decided to take the plunge myself. I put this together in about 2 hours at work, and would appreciate a rigourous commentary. Don't hold back

Also, is there an easy way to manage your angles? I keep cutting and pasting lines to maintain aspect... I'm using GraphicsGale.

Thanks!

ok here is my commentary

your lines look a little bit ... jagged(dont know if that's the word)
you can get rid of this of this problem by making your lines go like 2-2-2 yours go like 2-2-3
I'm a work in progress

ok, not a bad start, although it really does need alot more work! it looks to me as if you are trying to draw isometrically, in which case like fastshorty correctly wrote

all you really need is to go through a tutorial on iso art,

Here

there if you work through the articles listed under the title 'instruction', it should help to correct this piece.

hope to see an update of this soon,

Is there a way to set this in Graphics Gale? I can't find line preferences!

I jumped the gun on the reply, after reading some tutorials I see the angle dictates the line. :)

wow, is all i can say, a great improvement, the most glaringly obvious thing is that the shadow is not even, here i have rectified this (if you dont mind)

another point that i have made in the above diagram is that pixelart is all about the most minute details, unless your building was nothing more than a paper house, the walls would have a thickness, this is shown by the red line at the top of the building.

sorry for the long explanation,

Exactly what I was thinking but you explained it much better then I would have. What happened to the small building on top from the original?

Hey Guys,

GreyScar:

Thanks man, the thickness and the shadow thing really helped me out...! I appreciate your feedback!

Takeout:

I took out the building on top because I wanted to focus on technique for now, and get creative when i have the basics down!

It'll be back :P

Thanks again for the help
