something iv been working on for basicly no reason, heres just a
shot that tests then. its some tiles i have made, each tile is 16 x 16 px and each tile uses no more then 8 colours. these tiles arnt for any use as yet as i have no use for them, so if anyone has a game engine lying around or is in need of some 16 x 16 tiles then i may be able to give u the full set when its complete.... any CnC so far? ![]() UPDATE!!! ED ok iv added a mud path, i still need to make some variatoons for it e.g. dirt clogs n stuff 2 make the path look more intresting, but that shouldnt take long, other than that any CnC? ![]() UPDATED AGAIN!!!! ok iv added shadows to the rocks... AND did more stuff which is obvious.. CnC plz ![]() ANOTHER UPDATE!! ok just a few minor updates to the actual tiles that are visible, but a major update for the actual tileset. iv made another one of everytile, then added shadow to it so it can be used, examples of this is by the stair set if u look there is a shadow on the new 1 and not on the old, also quite obvious there are people!!! they look the same cos its jus the same person just faceing in differnt directions to give u a clue of what they look like, everything is still in 16 x 16 tiles and each tile still has no more than 8 colours in includeing person. These look good to me. Flowers, stones..nicely tiled.. A bit on the low contrast, low saturation side but it works.

lookin goo. I see you've used some techniques from the 'So you
want to be a pixel artist' tutorial, for the grass. :D Lately ive seen
a couple tile artists attempting to perfect such grass; yours is one of
the top ones i've seen. The only C+C I have is that the bottom of
the rocks could shade into the grass a little more.

Whoa, this is starting to look nicer and nicer. It has a good overall
feel. The cliffs are tops. The only thing I can think of to improve is
the sides and back of the cliffs. Maybe show more rock there to make it
clear that there's a change in elevation.
BTW if you wanna make a small game out of it I have some experience with tile based games in flash and would love to help (if it's nothing too complicated). |
