Hi there!

I've created a smileys competition on my webpage. It's the second competition I organize and this time there's even a real prize for the winner to be delivered via snailmail!

I just do this on my own for the fun of it, so please excuse me if this is not the right place/forum to post this. I don't want to annoy anyone.

The competition rules are:
  • It started the 5th of July and will finish the 18th of July 2006.
  • You should send your smileys to my email address: oink.es.fabuloso@gmail.com (or just post them here in this thread, and I'll pick them up!
  • You can send as many smileys as you want. Size should be equal or smaller than 13x13 pixels.
  • Of course, all smileys submitted should be yours.
  • Front view only, no side view.
  • Background colour should be transparent or white.

The smileys sent so far are here (of course, there's difference in quality because they are sent by different people):
http://oink.elrellano.com/caras2/caras2.php

Here are the 1st competition entries:
http://oink.elrellano.com/caras/caras.php

Prize: I've been using the following smileys on my webpage for several years:

So, the prize is a set of these smileys made out of plastic beads in real life. Like the ones shown here:
http://oink.elrellano.com/pixel3D2.php

I make these myself!

So, if anyone wants to participate! I'll love it!

Thank you very much to everyone!

You can even make a full set of emotions (as some have already done). This is an example I've made myself this weekend (of course, I can't win my own competition, I just made them for the fun of it! ):

well he said he's making them into beads....judging by the pictures they'd have to be pretty simple, but I hope not because I just made some with 9 colors

wait, nevermind, we're getting your smiley things? sounds kind of pointless.

you can use as many as you want! (it's only a 13x13 grid, so I don't think there're so many that could fit in there anyway! )

yepp, you get my "real life smileys" that's the prize!

I think they were pretty nice. Would fit on my fridgerator just fine. Of course it would be even better if the winner could get those things made of his/her own smileys.

Nevertheless I will surely participate. Have already done over 20 of them.
Not now honey, I have a deadline.

Yep. There would be a color problem. I only have a certain set of colors for the beads!

Since you only have a limited number of colored beads, the best thing to do would be get the closest corresponding 'computer' color to those beads so that when people start making emotes that their colors will be 'real-life' transferable.

Anyhow, I may work on some emotes for this little competition, sounds like fun. XD

You could post the colors of beads so as to create a palette we could conform to.

I already published on my weblog that the prize was going to be a set of my own smileys, but I understand that one might prefer his own smileys on his fridge! So... let's see... try to stick to the same 28 colors I've used on my own smileys. I.e.:

Since I've got beads for all these colors, there shouldn't be a problem! I'll give the winner at least some of his own smileys as well (or we can let the winner choose what he wants). But take into account that maybe I won't be able to do all of the winner's smileys! There's someone who has already submitted more than 200!

Is that cutman beside the blue haired snader?

Btw, 13x13 is pretty damn small.
