Well, first off, I'm new here, as anyone that can read a post count would realize. So, hi!
Now, onto my little bit of work. The aim for me was to make something in the style of the Zelda game for SNES, A Link to the Past. Hence why the border of the sprite was done in such a way most would call a no-no. So don't crit that. Don't crit the colours/lack thereof, either. I'm reasonably happy with them for now, and can go back at a later time if I feel the need. What I need help with? Angle. Angles hate me. Or I them. Or something. Help me fix the tops of those trees, please! ![]() ![]() |

The problem that most people have with angles is that as we draw up, we start to lose sense of the angle that we had at the base.
The best way to combat this is to find out your base angle, then match it throughout the tree. What you have to do is find out what angle your base is at. Assuming your trunk is circular, if you use the Oval Tool in MS Paint and draw and oval around the trunk that touches the sides and top and bottom, you get the dimensions of the oval, which tells you the angle of the base. Once you have that, draw more ovals with the same height to width ratio and place them on your tree, this helps you maintain the same angle or ratio throughout. I'm at work, otherwise I'd draw one up to give you an idea. Hopefully you'll understand. :( |
