Hey, I'm fairly new to pixel art - but this is my most recent piece where I have started to use some dithering for smoother corners. C+C would be great, thanks.
![]() It has quite a few colors, mainly because of the texturization I randomly applied to it to create a fabric-like look on all of it. Edited by ChromeX - 30 April 2007 at 5:05pm |

Well, here we like to do things pixel-by-pixel and frown upon texturization, filters, drop shadows, auto-antialiasing, and the text tool. Do yuo think you could upload a "pixel-pure" version so we can better help you improve your pixel art skills.
The chair looks to be rather bland and not overly realistic in its proportions and shape. Do a google search or check a furniture store's ads to see how real chairs are made and how they compare to a person. In this respect having such a chair at your house would be even better.
You may want to add wooden details such as feet and embellishments as well as remove the black inner outlines in the couple of areas you have them. Also, you may want to consider using intermediate colors when dithering when possible, to provide a smoother and less grainy transition.
You say you were going for a fabric texture, but really shape would probably convey fabric better. If you can, give the cushions bulge like stuffed fabric and break the box a bit.
