Well i've decided that i would try my hand at 16x16 platformer tilesets. So far i have this tileset from 15 minutes work:
 
 
I will allow edits but please reframe from using them at the moment.

I think they're too dark... that dirt is way too dark... lighten them up ;)
you can make that horizon look let's flat.. mybe use a gradient or something...
by the way... the tiles are the background, fishes andc louds are sprites... that go over the tiles...

and if he's going to animate they should be sprites for an easier work..
i've enver seen tiles like that...
clouds maybe no but fishes yes...

i don't see where he says that fishes or any tile will be animated. most of the time? unless they are not bg. Background = tile/Sprite=element. but of course we're not speaking of rules, gabo.

Okay, i took your advice and lightened the dirt. I also have added some more parts to the tileset. I like the simplicity of the buildings, but not sure if it fits with the detail of the land, let me hear your thoughts anyway.
 
I also decided to increase the size of the tiles from 16x16 to 32x32.

ok ok, back on topic. i like the new double pixel version. apart from the dirt thing, everything is looking great. keep working on it.

is a fact that the dirt need more work... look at the one i got in my gallery... it may not be the style you are looking for but looks like dirt...
 
there's osmething that bothers me in the castle... =/ that bridge hanging to nowhere...

I looked at the one in your profile and i think its just too detailed for this piece. I'm quite happy as it is, but i may change the texture.
 
Any idea's on what else to add to it. I'm going to do animations for the fish just for this piece to add to the gallery, as well as keeping it for a platformer tileset.
 
I'll also try and get some sort of villians/monsters and the main hero in there. Then maybe add in a couple health bars and weapon bars.

Still to add for the gallery entry;
 
   - Main Hero/Character
   - Enemies
 
Then, with a bit of touching up here and there i'll try sending it to the gallery.

everything looks squarish i'll see if i make you a lil edit..., there are soem tiles that hasn't een aplyed...

What's with the mixed pixel sizes? The HUD and spikes looks very out of place because they're at normal size while the rest is at 2x.
