Hi there! I'm beginning a contest for character sprites to be used in the game Ara Fell. You can check out the game's site here!

http://www.arafell.com

Here's how it works....

You'll add an outfit and hair to one of these templates, either male or female and the style will need to mesh as well as possible with the example sprite shown below.

I'll choose the winners based on my personal favorites, and will award $75 for first place, $45 for second place and $25 for third. These sprites will all be used in the game, and you'll receive credit in the end credits for your work.

Any artist creating an additional sprite that does not place, but is used in the game, will be awarded $15. All prizes will be awarded by mailed checks, as opposed to Paypal or another electronic funds transfer. You'll also retain all the rights to your work!

First, Second and Third places will be named on September 23rd, one month from now. Though you can still submit character sprites if you like, they won't be eligible for the top prizes, but will still be awarded $15 if they're used. You may submit as many as you like. Awards are given per submission, not per person. One individual can win both first, second and third place prizes by themselves by submitting 3 sprites.

Please use this list to make any sprites!

General Theme/Setting
A pseudo-medieval time period on a floating island in the sky. Think "dreamy and magical" feeling.

Theme: Gypsy Inspired (Loose, somewhat revealing clothing. Go for cute, not slutty. Lots of jewelry.)

Villagers: Random medieval professions, as well as housewives. This is based on the somewhat historical perspective that women in these days tended to look after the family while men worked. This is NOT meant to be sexist. =P

Soldiers: Archers, Swordsmen. Relatively light armor, not full plate. Try and think of style more than utility. These can be both male and female.

Royalty: Think of a gypsy king and queen, as well as what those serving them might look like. Royal guardsmen would be good, too.

Other NPCs: Travelling merchants, random adventurers and feel free to make different styles of people from far away lands.

There you have it! Feel free to Email or PM me with any questions! Thank you!

It could go either way, but it's definitely meant to be a contest.

but will be used in the game

this make this a job.. so this wont go here, if you are going to make a game you shoudln-t have different graphics for the sprites and that is not the idea.. everyone needs to be paid for they work.. if you are going to get economical funds from it, also a game with characters with different style wont look good, I'll strongly recommend you to get an artist for doing this.. not making a contest..

regards from Kfuchoin
PS:plz take this in consideration this in consideration
