Don't try to AA when you have a black outline... It only makes everything look blurry, not smooth.

There's really no depth to it at all which I think is bothering me. The fret board doesn't seem too bad itself but I don't like the head or body of it.

i shaded the outside edges fixed the black outline and redid the AA =] ![]() |

I don't understand your lighting. It's inconsistent. Where is the light source meant to be?
Also, why is there an outline around the inside of the body? Is there meant to be a black line there, actually as a part of the guitar's design? Otherwise, it shouldn't be there and destroys the effect of the lighting. Either that or you'd have to be going for a comic-style cel-shaded sort of thing, but you're not doing that since the black lines don't extend out along the edges of the embossed area. |

you didnt use exactly the same light, and that makes your version weird, and I dont think this thing has a very good light source as well..

Don't AA onto a white background, make the background a neutral colour for now (don't AA to it) and work on your shading. It'll be much easier to do so on a neutral background. :)
