I was going to pixel the monitor I am currently using, but I ran into an early problem. Usually isometric is a piece of cake, but when the straight lines changes into curved lines, it is a bit harder. I'll show you what I mean.

The "pattern" or "texture" on the top and sides of the monitor is supposed to be air holes. I think I did pretty well on the holes on the side of the monitor, but when "finished" with the ones on top I noticed I made a big mistake. They don't curve upwards as they should be, so it looks like they are a level lower than they're supposed to be.

If you get what I mean, or see the huge mistake on the picture, mind helping out a bit?

Well to begin with, this pattern has no direction by itself.
I think you need to let out a line of pixels or two, so you create the illusion of directed lines.
and also, the pattern on top touches the curve by the blue line, which I think it should not.

Well, from this point of view the "pattern" on top does go all the way to the curve. It's just that I'm not sure how to create the illusion of it bending upwards... It's hard to ask for honest c+c without a reference picture from the top...

This is what I mean:

as for the pattern, you cannot make it directed if it is just checkered b/w squares...

I think that the monitor's a bit too long? Try cutting it down a fair 10 or 20 pixels.

I admit it surely looks like that, especially with that crappy reference picture (why are all monitor pictures found through google at that angle?!), but I assure you that I measured and counted and from what my eyes can tell from the real monitor, that is the lenght of it. I'll try to find a camera to get some real reference pictures tomorrow, since we really can't go nowhere unless you know what it is supposed to look like..

*nods* I understand. I DO believe a change in reference picture is in order. XD :P I believe st0ven did a peice with a computer monitor in it on his site. Maybe looking at that might help you somewhat.

Of course, you could always just take a look at your own monitor. :P

Here are some reference pictures. One from the side, one from the top, and one in a bad isometrical view.

I may have miscalculated a bit

Yeah, in comparison it still looks like the isometric one is a bit longer.
