These are for a graphic novel I'm making based off of a game series called Super Robot Wars.

Andy, they look really bland to me. Boring if you will. It's generic anime hero and friends, none of them look like they have much personality tbh. The one on the bottom left looks like a clone of the one on the bottom right, since even though they are drawn seperately their features are very similar. Also, why crop them? I think it would be better if you gave yourself more room to create the entire profile, it will help you to draw them in an more comfortable way i think, you shouldn't feel so confined (at least, i do if i'm doing something like that). Basically, don't try to show their personalities through hair colour or because they have different styled eyes etc. I think you should be wary of the generic anime character designs, or at least research realistic anatomy etc to improve your anime drawings. Good luck, hope i helped... Edited by Larwick - 17 October 2007 at 12:30pm |

Thanks man! Yeah I'll fix up with the guy with the one eye. I was too lazy to make him look different so I used that other guy as a base. For some characters will have traditional anime style designs. I have a lot of those How To Draw Manga books that teach character design of traditional anime characters. I'm sticking with my style for now.
