Hey thar, new to the forums... or is it fori?.... hmmm, head hurts now...

Anyways, I've been a pixel whore for about 2 years... ish... or something like that. This is my first post, just wanted to get some crits on a portrait style thing I'm working on for one of my characters.

I don't really work in this size often of at all. Should it be finished or thrown on a heap and burned?

Finish it, then throw it in a heap and burn it. That way you can surprise people because they think you've been idle a lot, but all of the sudden got some skills.

Really, its up to you wether or not to finish it. I'd say finish it just for the sake of having practice finishing things...

Dude, you have to finish this. I love it so far. It's an awesome style. You really should finish it.

For every second spent wondering if you can do something, you could spend 2 seconds doing it.

This is nice. I really like the colors and the AA on the face.

Thanks for the comments. I've decided to continue it, improved on it a bit.

The shading on the right side of her hair where it's brushed back wasnt working well imo. Fixed up some bits and added more shading/aa. Changed her lips a bit and added her peircings

Yes, she's a she. A butch she, but a she none the less.... kinda like me I guess

I like the piercings. Nice job. The only thing I can think of right now is add some subtle highlights to the jacket/shirt and the hair. It is a liiitle bit dark overall right now.

looks great but, change the colour of the eyes... too much matching going on here. Either that or change the hair colour :)

@Pixelblink: I appreciate the suggestion, and if it were just a one off peice I would, but this peice is of an already existing character of mine and her design is finalised. There's already loads of pics, pixel art, cgs etc. of her and changing it now wouldn't make much sense.

Sorry. But yes I do see where you're coming from, which is why I tried something out with the bg, to distract a bit.

Yay for randomness XD

The bg was basically done just so I could practice some skills with effects and yes it's tiled, I got lazy, sue me.

I've tried to add highlights twice. Havn't been sucessful, I may try again later, we'll see.
