I started a forestscene inspirated bu Jamon's "ilkke in the woods"

I also wanted to try pixel art with very less color palette. Atm theres six colors on the picture + bg ( atm. white )

Maybe the finished version about this work?

New work in progress:

Please, post something which can help me with this piece of art. Thank you :)

Thats very nice, but i dont think it should be that bright from back, because looks like the guy is pretty far from the tree.

But looks nice until now.

Again - the lamp lights up the entire tree, yet the man holding it is mostly in shadow.

sketch/block out the rest of your scene.  If you work focusing on only one small part of the scene at a time, it'll look choppy and pasted together.

Well, now there is seven colors on the picture. I would like to see more CC about this than another w.i.ps so I can get this better :)

I like your color choice and shading. Maybe the two higher trees (the ones the leaves can't be seen)  look a bit unfinished, specially the first one.

be warned that the man's anatomy(specially the head and left arm) are off. also, i would discard these higlights of the trees in the background(the ones in the top of the hill. while the ligthsource is indeed intense, its limited. lamps tend to have a very focused ilumination in a small radius, and this is very noticeable on dark eviroments. also, your moon is another ligth source, and since is a full moon, it can be as intense as the lamp itself, but with the exeption that its range its much larger than the lamp.

and a bit more attention on the composition. don't overdo the image filling with small details here and there, or else the mess will be complete. the eyecandy here is the ligthing and  its effect on the scene, not the amount of little elements that can be seen.
