Hi guys, I'm starting to sketch somethings for my new game and I'm having a little trouble with my animation cycle, hope you can help me out.

Its just a sketch made by rotating limbs in photoshop, just to see how animation goes, I want to make it smooth, but I don't know if I should put more frames or just fix the arms movement.

There's also something that bugs me on her legs, don't know exactly what.

C&C please

BTW, heres the original:

She doesn't look like she's walking, but rather figure-skating.

Either make her feet straighter so that she looks like she's walking, or bend them a bit more so that it looks like she's running.

oh, forgot to say, shes not exactly walking, she's running, a light run, a little like Jonhatan from Castlevania POR. She's in the middle of walking and running, you know what I mean?

Ens has one of the best animation cycles to be studied.

however, i would not recomend to draw the entire sprite from the beggining. instead, draw a simple wireframe, draw it and when you have the cycle mastered, add the details.

well, that's not exactly the kind of animation I'm trying to achieve, my character is fastwalking, not just walking. I saw an animation like the one I'm trying to get in a fighting game, but I dont remember what game was that.

She needs to pick her feet up a bit more on the upswing.  When jogging, or 'fast-walking', the heel is the first part of the foot to hit the ground, but here, she lands on the front of her foot.  This is giving the impression that shes skating.

the speed of the walk doesn't really matter as it can be fix with a single button. what you should really notice and Study is how the body parts move and interact with their neighboors. Specially the basic movement of the legs is what your character is lacking. when someone uses their legs to move (no matter the speed) you are supposed to move your legs this way:

while your character moves like this:
/ |
wich gives the idea that she is somehow skating. in resume: your walking cicle lacks one essential frame right now. the idea of posting Ens cycle was for you to compare, analize, and then realize what did you missed.

oh, now i see, i miss the frame where the legs get straight and the ankle hits the floor before the toes. but aside from that, do the arms look okay?

edit:I just changed the leg of the frame where she should hit the floor with her ankle and it looks so much better now, i'll post the animation later.

The torso never rotates right from it's initial position. This produces an awkward image.

She needs to bob down when she puts either of her feet on the ground in front of her. When she launches herself from either of those feet the body rises again.
I`d keep the head still too. Looking left and right doesn't work that well for a run cycle. In saying that, it can look great in an idle animation

Best source I`ve come across is the photographic work of Edward Muybridge.
Here's an example of a run cycle he filmed;
