Welcome aboard Tdot.

the main aspect that you should notice here(and perhaps you're already aware of it) is the wonky anatomy. i do suggest you that if you feel lacking knowledge about this fact when doing your template, you should try to check some reference pictures to guide you in your work. it will make everything more easier, but please don't trace over it, as such thing doesn't help you improve at all.

I can reccomend you posemaniacs.com. Its a huge database of human anatomy images organized by various categories that you can freely rotate for better results. do not forget to post whatever image you're using as a reference.

if you still need help don't be afraid and  post your doubts here, as we will try to help you as much as posible

Thanks for the welcome Metaru. Yes, actually I noticed the anatomy and plan on working some on it. That's always been my problem with more proportionate characters...I can't get the proportions right O.o
Myself I think the left leg is the biggest problem. Any other things you guys could point out would be great as I want these to look as good as I can get them. In the mean time, I made a character out of it. This is an assassin inspired heavily by Assassin's Creed.

On a side note, if anyone knows of any good tips/tutorials on getting detail on small images I'd love to see them.

pixel art is all about fitting details into small spaces. hence the name, pixel art. so a natural answer would be to look for pixel art tutorials, but i highly doubt that any tutorial could explain how you should/could put these aspects, as there is no 'fixed' way to do it. its just a matter of practice and experience, trial an error. just keep in mind that too many specs doesn't mean your pic is detailed, and may even be overdone.

about the anatomy of the character itself, the legs doesn't match proportionally with the rest of the body(torso, head, etc.) compare yours to one of the references that can be found in the site i've posted and you'll see the point by yourself.
