where's your light source? shade the building accordingly, for example the brick wall/window of the east side should be darker than those on the north side of the building, to help separate the two distinct sides.
colors are way too saturated, mute them a little bit so they aren't so jarring. the sidewalk continuing off the edge doesn't make any sense. the flag could be larger and the flagpole could be further from the building. flagpoles usually have flowerbeds, bushes, etc nearby for aesthetic purposes. the blocky letters aren't the font I'd expect on a schoolhouse. shadows- the flagpole, the swingset, the building- they should all cast shadows. |

Use something less jarring for the color between bricks too. A tan-ish grey may work. Pure white is almost non-existant unless it's a bright light source and a shiny material, which brick mortar isn't.
Oh, and the second story thing, the top of it doesn't have any separations for the bricks for some reason. Edited by Zeratanus - 10 January 2011 at 4:19pm |
