first = Ens gave the ok to this proyect 
ok now let's go on. The sprites for this game will be created my us, everything will be coded by:
LOOKING FOR PEOPLE DISPOSED TO CODE THE GAME
 
what would be need?
 
-Scenarios: 640*480
 -Background
 -the part where the chars will walk
 
 
-Characters: 75*... (no especifications in the width so we can get better things)
it'll be cool if we where put like characters in the game, sander, Itsvan, Jalonso,etc...
ok now here what the spriite sheet need  to have??
  • punch
  • walk
  • kick
  • jump
  • jump kick
  • Jump Punch
  • Landing
  • run
  • double jump
  • Specials
  • Portrait (the size of the portraits wil lbe told later right now i don't know it..)
  • Standing animation
  • Crouch
  • Crouch Kick
  • Crouch Punch
  • hit during walk
  • hit in air
  • hist while crouching
  • Victory
  • Losing
-Selection Screen
what's the selection screen?
is where you select the characters
size: 640*480
it'll be divided in little portraits (i'll tell the size of them later right now i don' know it)
-Menu
size= 640*480
this is the first screen of the game
this screen will say
  •  tile:"Pixel Joint"

                     vs battle

  • Arcade
  • History Mode
  • Training
  • Exit

=) anything else that you need to know tell me.. and i'll answer

take your time.. there's no time limit..
 
=D rembmer this will have PJ name on it.. take it seriously don't make crapp (i don't think that we'll have crapp you are plenty good [i dunno my self])

So our one character has to have all  13 different animations? That seems like a lot of work to make all of those.

EDIT: And, won't these characters get hit? Wouldn't we animate a few parts where the fighter gets knocked down or blocks an attack?

yes...

you need these animations for hit positions they got hit in:
*trip
*in air
*crouching
*standing

also, dont forget the walk backwards animation

So 21 different animations for characters sounds a little to high for just a collaboration. To be honest, I don't think anyone is going to want to do 21 different animations without pay.

We tried something like this before, I actually made alot of stuff for it.
It was closed down due to lack of intrest, only a handfull of people cared.

If I see more people working on this, I'll make some stuff.

didn't knew it was ilegal =S... then i'll need some flash coders or any otehr program.. =S
 
and shouldnt it be usefull if there is some pallete??
 
pallete why a pallete? amm amybe with just 3 colros for shding is enough... but ok i'll put a pallete for the skin.. because thre are too many colors that maybe used for the clothes and there you'll choose
 
btw: what's the prbolem with that my friends code the game?

ok a base line. how about: 50 - 100 saturation, the colors must hue shift slightly and the sat must drop for shading and rise for lighting and if someone has made a sprite with the colors you need, you should use them
 
would that work for the colors?
 
EDIT: plus I don't like that style, maybe we could make our own

not everybody here uses windows.  if you are going to make a community game, that is not going to fly.  many here use macs.  make it work on all OS' or dont bother.

I suggest putting a colour limit for each character, or having a large pre-defined palette, but not setting a universal skin colour or whatever, because skin colours vary, der.

Someone who already has alot of skill with fighting characters should make a generic character which everyone else can sort of base theirs upon. Would make unifying everything easier.

You could actually use little fighters 2 engine, they have a premade template for the character animations.

But yeah seriously making a complete character for mugen is about months of work be it on the programming side or the animating side.

If we failed at making a very simple platformer game, i think we will fail at doing a very complex fighting game.

75 pxs tall... will be ok.. the other px will be your choice because some standing or atacks are so complex taht need more pxs in that way

and i talked to my friends... and like we had problems coz Mugen runs ilegal under Windows blah..bla.. blah...
and you want this game purely of PJ they understood and if you want it purely PJ they wont make it.. they'll understand

Ya coding is different from making a sprite sheet. A sprite sheet as you showed earlier was the frames of an animation. I asked you whether you were going to do 21 different animations because, as you said in your "character" WIP you suck and are new to animation. I never said anything about you coding, I said animating/sprite sheet:
